Buckhead is a community, comprising several neighborhoods, forming roughly the northern one-fifth of Atlanta, Georgia and just inside the perimeter. It lies on GA 400, and in minutes you can be on I-285 or I-75/85. Buckhead is one of Atlanta’s most important business districts, and includes Atlanta’s wealthiest neighborhoods. Most are surprised to find lush green coverage and rolling hills that encompass these neighborhoods. What draws a lot of people to Buckhead, however, is the dazzle of the city. There are tall, glimmering office buildings and high-rises; innumerable, fashionable bars and clubs; tons of art galleries and theaters; several glitzy hotels; and an unbelievable number of shopping venues – between Lenox, Peachtree and Piedmont, shopaholics can peruse nearly 1,500 stores. Plenty of Atlanta’s best restaurants call the Buckhead area home, too.
While great for getting out on the town, Buckhead also offers its residents parks – including Chastain Memorial and several, smaller neighborhood green spaces – civic / neighborhood associations, volunteer opportunities, churches and wonderful educational outlets.
Nearby communities include Brookwood Hills, Collier Hills, Peachtree Hills, Garden Hills, Peachtree Park, and Pine Hills.
