It was developed as Atlanta’s first country club neighborhood around 1910 with the arrival of the Capital City Club. Brookhaven is also home to Oglethorpe University, distinctive for its Gothic revival architecture. Brookhaven offers many shopping and dining options and is less than two miles from Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza, located in Atlanta’s Buckhead district and two of the most affluent shopping centers in the United States.
